Extreme cold warning in effect for parts of the region

NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada is urging residents to bundle up.

The government weather agency states very cold wind chills near -40C are expected to continue Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Temperatures will moderate slightly during the day.

Extreme cold wind chills may continue for some areas into Wednesday morning.

  • Savant Lake - Sturgeon Lake
  • Sioux Lookout - Eastern Lac Seul
  • Fort Frances - Emo - Rainy River
  • Seine River Village - Mine Centre
  • Dryden - Vermilion Bay
  • Ignace - English River
  • Atikokan - Shebandowan - Quetico Park
  • Upsala - Raith
