NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada is urging residents to bundle up.
The government weather agency states wind chill values near -40C to -45C are expected late Thursday morning.
Temperatures and wind chill values will moderate slightly during the day Thursday, however, similar extreme cold conditions are expected again Thursday night into Friday morning.
Watch for cold-related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.
Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill, so it's important to cover up.
If it's too cold for you to stay outside, it's too cold for your pet to stay outside.
Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.

- Sandy Lake - Weagamow Lake - Deer Lake
- Summer Beaver - Wunnummin Lake - Kingfisher Lake
- Upsala - Raith
