DRYDEN — Two people face charges in connection with an incident in Dryden on the weekend that forced the partial evacuation of a trailer park.

OPP began an investigation Saturday when they received information that someone might be in possession of explosives.

On Sunday, police said they had told some residents of the Wilson Trailer Park to leave their homes while the investigation continued with the involvement of the OPP emergency response team and the explosives disposal unit.

Two Dryden residents were subsequently arrested.

A 23-year-old is charged with:

  • making or possessing explosives for unlawful purposes
  • uttering threats to damage property
  • possession of methamphetamines for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • unauthorized possession of a weapon

This individual was held in custody pending a bail hearing Monday.

The second accused person, aged 21, was released from custody pending a court appearance next month on a charge of possession of cocaine.
