RED LAKE — A 21-year-old faces multiple charges after police made a traffic stop for a vehicle being driven erratically.

Provincial police said officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 105 on Sunday after receiving two separate reports of a vehicle being driven erratically.

Police said the driver was suspected to be impaired by drug and failed a field sobriety test, leading to him being taken to the Red Lake detachment for further testing.

Police also found small amounts of cannabis and cocaine, along with cash and items associated with drug trafficking.

The accused is charged with cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, driving with cannabis readily available and with an open container of liquor. A three-day warning range driver's licence suspension was also issued.

The accused has been released and is due to appear in a Red Lake court later this month.
