DRYDEN — An English public school board trustee representing Dryden has finally been elected, more than three months after the municipal elections.
The City of Dryden has verified the results of the by-election, which took place over the last week after the previous race was voided, which had Judi Green prevail with 283 votes, just ahead of Barbara Gauthier's total of 242 votes, for the spot on the Keewatin Patricia District School Board.
An election emergency had been declared by Dryden clerk Allyson Euler last October after it was discovered that some voters had received multiple voter information letters, and would have been able to cast more than one ballot.
The by-election was held between Jan. 30 and Monday, through telephone and internet voting.
