DRYDEN — The Dryden Regional Health Centre's 50/50 draw gave one person a belated Christmas present.

The Dryden Regional Health Services Foundation announced that Taryn Smith of Naicatchewenin First Nation was the winner of December's monthly draw.

"It's still feeling unbelievable right now. I still feel like I am in a state of shock. It's amazing," said Smith.

Smith tells NWOnewswatch that she missed she missing the initial phone call from the Dryden Regional Health Services Foundation. She received an urgent email from DRHSF telling her to call the foundation as soon as possible.

"So I did and I checked over my ticket and it was the matching numbers," Smith said.

Smith won the final jackpot which was $112,000.

She has a few ideas on how she will spend her winnings.

"I don't really have a plan for it. I am hoping to possibly get a house at some point soon," explains Smith.
