Drugs seized, five arrested following break and enter

COUCHICHING FIRST NATION — Treaty Three Police Service officers arrested five people following a break and enter on Sunday evening.

Police seized 191.82 grams of suspected cocaine and $5,200 in cash during the investigation.

A 36-year-old woman from Fort Frances faces multiple charges, including possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, unlawfully entering a dwelling, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failure to comply with a release order, trespassing at night, and break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

A 46-year-old man from Couchiching was also charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, unlawfully entering a dwelling, obstructing a peace officer, failure to comply with two undertakings, trespassing at night, and break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Two people from Thunder Bay, a 54-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, were charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.

A 38-year-old man from Toronto was charged with failure to comply with an undertaking.

The investigation involved the T3PS Street Crime Unit and the Fort Frances detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
