OPP lay drug trafficking charges in North Caribou

One individual is facing multiple charges after a routine inspection at a checkpoint in the First Nation.

NORTH CARIBOU LAKE FIRST NATION – The North Caribou Lake OPP detachment and the North Caribou Lake checkpoint guards conducted a routine vehicle inspection on Aug. 12 where they seized suspected illicit substances including cocaine and opioids.

According to a news release, a 29-year-old from North Caribou Lake was charged with two counts of drug trafficking.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court in October.
