Drug trafficking charges laid in Kenora

Kenora OPP has arrested and charged an 18-year-old with multiple offences.

KENORA – According to OPP Northwest Region, officers with the Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit have concluded an investigation which resulted in drug trafficking charges on the streets of Kenora.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on April 24, officers investigated the area of Bernier Drive where they observed suspected drug transactions taking place.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected illicit substances including fentanyl, methamphetamine, morphine, and dilaudid. Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result, an 18-year-old from Kenora has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking in various illicit substances, possession of a prohibited device and ammunition, possession of property under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the court on April 25.
