IGNACE — If police services have already been notified that warrants have been issued for your arrest, most people would consider driving a vehicle at high speed to be rather risky.
One motorist paid the price after deciding to take that chance while passing through Northwestern Ontario over the weekend.
Ontario Provincial Police spotted a rented moving truck being driven at 95 km/h in a 70 km/h zone in Ignace.
Officers with the Ignace and Dryden detachments were able to stop the vehicle, only adding to the driver's existing legal issues.
OPP learned he was wanted on outstanding warrants, and that his licence had been suspended in Ontario.
"U-hauling your vehicle through town at highway speeds . . . definitely adds to your list of other bad decisions," the OPP said in a social media post.
The resident of Saskatchewan faces charges of speeding, and driving with a licence from another jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario.
