ETON TOWNSHIP — A stunt driver was arrested and faces several charges after allegedly driving impaired last Friday.
The OPP observed the driver's vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 17 in the Eton Township area near Dryden at roughly 8:45 p.m., according to a media release issued by the OPP on Monday.
After conducting a traffic stop, officers determined that the driver was impaired, placing the driver under arrest before returning to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 31 year-old man from Dryden was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg plus, dangerous operation, driving a motor vehicle while performing stunt-excessive speed, unsafe movement from a lane or shoulder, driving left of the centre while approaching a crest of grade, driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available and failure to have an insurance card.
The man has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Dryden courtroom in mid-September.
