Driver arrested after police receive tips from public

Motorist alleged to have over three times the legal limit of alcohol was found in the drive-through lane of a fast-food restaurant

FORT FRANCES — A local resident faces a charge of impaired driving after an incident on the weekend in the Fort Frances area.

According to the Rainy River District OPP, they received reports of an erratic driver travelling on Highway 11/71 in Alberton Township.

Officers located the suspect vehicle as it proceeded into the drive-through lane at a fast food restaurant in Fort Frances.

Following an interview with the driver, he was tested and allegedly found to have over three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

A 27-year-old man from Lavalee Township was charged with impaired driving.

OPP posted a note of thanks on social media to "members of the public who took this driver off the road."
