SIOUX LOOKOUT — Over two dozen people suffered a variety of injuries in a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a bus rolling over Sunday night, OPP says.
According to a media release issued Monday, police said the crash happened around 6:45 p.m. on June 29 on Highway 516 in Sioux Lookout near Stain Lake. The bus was carrying 30 adult passengers, police said, who had been tree planting.
Twenty-five people had to be taken to hospital for medical care, according to police, and, while some injuries were reportedly “minor,” the release said that “one person is reported to have sustained life-altering injuries at this time.”
The OPP responded, along with Northwest Emergency Medical Services, the Sioux Lookout Fire Service, Ornge air ambulance and the Ministry of Transportation.
Police said they continue to investigate, and are looking for anyone with information or video footage to contact the Sioux Lookout OPP or Crime Stoppers.
