Crystal meth seized in Cat Lake

Nishnawbe Aski Police Service has arrested and charged one individual for trafficking drugs.

CAT LAKE – According to Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS), officers in Cat Lake First Nation were dispatched to the community airport due to a female traveller suspected of being in possession of drugs.

Officers determined the suspect had a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and the person was taken into custody.

The accused became aggressive and began resisting officers, however, the arrest was completed without any further incidents.

As a result, a 27-year-old from Cat Lake First Nation is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and obstructing a police officer.

She was released with conditions and a future appearance date.

The investigation remains ongoing.
