NORTH SPIRIT LAKE — Police have charged a resident of North Spirit Lake First Nation with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service reported it received a call for service on Aug. 3 regarding an incident involving an adult female at the community's airport.
Investigating officers located a woman in possession of drugs with an estimated street value of $15,000, police said, adding they seized paraphernalia typically used for trafficking drugs.
The 39-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident.
She has since been released with conditions and a promise to appear in court at a future date.
North Spirit Lake is about 530 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
