COVID-19 outbreak declared at Rainy River Long Term Care Home

A COVID-19 outbreak has recently been declared at Rainy River Long Term Care Home. Additional precautions to minimize the spread of the virus has been taken.

Riverside Health Care in conjunction with the Northwestern Public Health Unit has declared a COVID-19 Outbreak at Rainy River Long Term Care Home on April 25, 2022.

RAINY RIVER—Riverside Health Care and the Northwestern Public Health Unit has declared a COVID-19 outbreak, affecting both residents and staff, at Rainy River Long Term Care Home.

Both NWPHU and Riverside Health Care released a statement indicating that they are taking additional precautions to enhance RRLTCH's ability to minimize the risk of transmission.

Rainy River Long Term Care Home, is said to already test staff twice a week, and are now testing all residents. Visitors will be limited to one essential/designated care giver per resident and can only visit in the resident’s room.

The Outbreak Management team indicated that they will continue to monitor the situation, and assure that the care and safety of all residents, family, and staff is their top priority.
