KENORA – Robinson will be taking over for Dennis Alvestad who has served as president for the past nine years.
“In some ways, it’s hard to believe that my 3 terms are up, it seemed to go by so quickly. I guess that’s why they say time flies when you’re having fun.” Alvestad goes on to say, “making an impact on my communities needs and working with great like-minded people made staying my full term limit a no-brainer. With that in mind, I do intend on making myself available as a volunteer in any way that makes sense for our foundation.”
The KLWCF wrote in their release, “if it wasn’t for people like Dennis, we wouldn’t be able to serve our catchment area the way we do. That is why we are very excited and privileged to have Shannon Robinson take over as board president effective immediately.”
The KLWCF thanks Alvestad for his dedication and devotion to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Community Foundation.
The Community Foundation also welcomes new board members Jess Rheault, Gord McCool, Kyle Attanasio and Laura Wheatley while saying farewell to exiting members, Sayer Down and Adam Smith.
