ATIKOKAN - On July 10 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police Atikokan Detachment officers were notified of a motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Highway 11 near Nym Lake Road.
OPP officers arrived on the scene along with Rainy River District Emergency Medical Services. Paramedics transported the driver to Atikokan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
While in hospital, Rainy River OPP officers requested a breath sample. The driver registered a blood alcohol reading over the legal limit.
Montana Greening, age 29 of Atikokan Township, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle; and,
- Operating a motor vehicle while having over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
Greening will appear before an Ontario Court of Justice on August 24 to answer the charges.
