KENORA - The water levels on Lake of the Woods have receded significantly over the past two weeks and as the city of Kenora begins to clean up from the flood, the city is reminding residents where to properly dispose of their sandbags.

The public is encouraged to properly dispose of any sandbags at the Transfer Station, 401 Mellick Avenue, at the recycle entrance area.

As you enter the recycle entrance, to the left, there is an area identified where residents can leave their intact sandbags.

Further, the City’s sand that has been available for public use for creating sandbags will be removed from Fourteenth Avenue North on Monday, August 29th.

There will be no further sandbags issued from Fire Station One.

The city thanks the public for their cooperation during this flooding period.
