KENORA—This week marks National AccessAbility Week and the City of Kenora could not let the week go by, without acknowledging the great work that their very own Accessibility Advisory committee members do.
In a statement shared with the community, they spoke about the kinds of things that the committee does. “They work to identify and remove barriers to accessibility throughout the City of Kenora and advise council on all matters related to accessibility. The Committee promotes that everyone should look at situations through the accessibility lens and think beyond the minimum required standards.”
Their list of the members on this committee recognized the following individuals, who in their view, “are personally or professionally invested and passionate about making Kenora more accessible. They are:
- Ruth Bowiec
- Mary Bawden
- Chad English
- Diane Pelletier
- Brenda Rainville
- Counc. Sharon Smith
- Counc. Rory McMillan
National AccessAbility Week runs from May 29 to June 4, 2022. This year’s theme is: “Inclusive From The Start”.
