DRYDEN – Dryden OPP have laid charges relating to a fatal collision that occurred April 21, 2023, near the city.
Police and emergency medical services responded to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 17 east of Dryden. Two occupants of one vehicle were pronounced dead at the local hospital.
A police news release on Friday said a 26-year-old resident of Surrey, B.C., has been arrested and charged with two counts of criminal negligence causing death and one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
The accused was held for bail and later released.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on Oct. 7.
Publication bans under sections 486.4 and 517 of the Criminal Code have been issued by the court. As such, provincial police said, no further information will be released.
