KENORA — Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 64-year-old Kenora man with a number of drug trafficking offences.

In a media release issued Friday, police said officers used a warrant to search a home and vehicle on May 6 and arrested the man for alleged trafficking.

Multiple OPP units, along with the Winnipeg Police Service and the Treaty 3 Police Service, were involved in the approximately two-month investigation into suspected trafficking of cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs in Kenora and the surrounding area, according to the release.

The 64-year-old was charged with possessing cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone and hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking. He also faces a charge of possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police said they seized those drugs in varying quantities as well as $5,630 in Canadian currency during their search.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized was reportedly $185,000.

The accused is in custody, police said, and was scheduled to be in court on Friday.
