Charge laid on Ignace resident for assaulting an OPP officer

Ignace OPP has arrested and charged one individual with numerous offences including assaulting a police officer.

DRYDEN – According to OPP Northwest Region, in the early morning of July 16 officers with Ignace OPP Detachment responded to an incident at a residence on Spruce Street.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old Ignace resident has been charged with two counts of failure to comply, two counts of assaulting police officers, two counts of resisting arrest, and utter threats.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the court at a later date.
