Cattle truck driver charged with careless driving

After a tractor-trailer lost control and rolled into a ditch on Highway 17, the driver was charged with careless driving.

IGNACE — Provincial police charged the driver of a cattle truck with careless driving after the driver lost control and rolled into a ditch on a highway over the weekend.

Police said the incident happened on Sunday morning near near Raven Lake Road on Highway 17.

The driver was assisted by paramedics at the scene. 

A provincial police spokesperson said the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

A social media post suggested as many as 10 cows may have been killed.
