IGNACE — The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission informed Ignace residence and surrounding region that their presentation originally scheduled for May 24, 2022 had to be cancelled.
The cancellation was needed as a result of the fact that several guest panelists scheduled to speak at this presentation could not make it due to the storm in Southern Ontario.
According to their notice, The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission stated that, “The presentation will be rescheduled for June,” and asked the public to join them next month to experience an evening of information.
The topics planned for that evening once it is rescheduled will include:
- The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission role as the intended nuclear regulator.
- Regulations of DGR’s including environmental requirements.
- The licensing process for DGR’s.
- The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission commitment to Indigenous Nations.
