Canada Day celebrations set for Kenora

Kenora invites those to join in the festivities under the White Cap Pavilion on Canada Day.

The new Whitecap Pavilion on Kenora’s waterfront has been one of the building blocks in the transformation of the local economy from milltown to full-fledged resort community.

KENORA – Kenora Harbourfront on July 1 will host several events to celebrate Canada’s birthday. Canada Day festivities include all-day family fun, a specialty farmer’s market, and fireworks. 

Furthermore, there is a list of what municipal buildings are open and closed on Canada Day.

Daytime under the Whitecap Pavilion

Her Majesty the Queen's Jubilee Display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Harbourtown Biz Family Zone from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • bouncy castles
  • face painting kids' crafts
  • games
  • photo booth
  • appearances from Paw Patrol's Chase, Scooby-Doo and a Minion

Specialty Farmers' Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Mago the Magician and Balloon Specialist Show from 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 

Bike decorating event at 11:15 a.m. 

Kenora Scottish Pipe and Drum Band accompanied by St. Andrew's at 11:15 a.m. 

Protocol ceremonies at noon.

FREE cake and root beer floats at 12:30 p.m. while supplies last

Strawberry Social at Mather Walls House, Keewatin from 2 to 4 p.m. 

 

Evening entertainment

Kenora Concert Series presents:

Kenora Choir Choir Community Sing at 7 p.m.

Live performance from Turning Point at 9 p.m.

The Kenora Hospitality Alliance presents:

Fireworks at 10:45 p.m.

 

What’s Open on July 1

  • Transfer Station
  • Kenora Recreation Centre and Keewatin Memorial Arena
  • Kenora and Keewatin Public Libraries
  • City Hall – including Provincial Offences Services
  • Operations Building – including Planning, Building, and Cemetery Office 
  • Recycle and garbage collection cancelled for Friday route 
  • City Transit does not operate on Canada Day
