Calgary and Dryden residents face charges in drug case

DRYDEN — OPP in Dryden arrested two people during a drug investigation. 

Multiple units were involved, including assistance from Red Lake OPP and the OPP canine unit.

Around 10 a.m. on Aug. 26, a 48-year-old Dryden resident was arrested and charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime at a local business in the area of Whyte Avenue. The individual was released with a future court date. 

Then, at around 2 p.m., officers brought a search warrant to a home on Van Horne Avenue in Dryden.

Police seized what is believed to be cocaine and Canadian cash during the search. 

Officers also located an individual in connection with the investigation at the address.

A 20-year-old from Calgary was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply. The suspect has been remanded into custody.
