  • Sierra Noble

Sierra Noble released her first album in 2005, entitled “Spirit of the Strings.” The instrumental album is composed of traditional fiddle music. In 2008, she debuted a vocal album entitled “Possibility,” co-written by Chris Burke-Gaffney and Keith Macpherson. This time around, leaning more on acoustic guitar, Noble jumped onto the Country Music scene, earning a spot on the Top 20 list.  Noble’s last album, “City of Ghosts,” in 2016, where her soft vocals and acoustic sound continue to compliment the Canadian Country Music.

  • Little Miss Higgins

Step into some folk-blues with Little Miss Higgins. Releasing her debut album in 2005 with the “The Cobbler Shop Sessions.” With songs like “Rule Breaker” and “Give Your Mama One Smile,” her lyrics are pure poetry set to rustic blues. Little Miss Higgins followed up in 2007 with the album Junction City,  a Juno Award nominee for Blues Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2008. After moving to Winnipeg, MB, she teamed up with The F-Holes’s Western swing band for the 2013 album Bison Ranch Recording Sessions, released as Little Miss Higgins and the Winnipeg Five. The album was recorded on bassist Patrick Leclerc's family farm in a converted barn. Bison Ranch Recording Sessions was a Juno Award nominee for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year – Group at the Juno Awards of 2014. Her most recent album, My Home, My Heart, was released in 2017, following which Higgins received a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Solo Artist of the Year at the 14th Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2018.

  • Belle Plaine

Singer-songwriter Belle Plaine combines vintage blues and swing music to bring her fan back to when Patsy Cline, Everly Brothers, and Neko Case hit the charts.  Plaine has travelled the festival spots such as at Small Halls on Prince Edward Island and Regina Folk Festival in Saskatchewan and appearances at industry events like Folk Alliance International and JUNOfest. Belle’s 2018 album Malice, Mercy, Grief & Wrath crafts a narrative that reflects themes such as forgiveness, redemption, and hope.

  • Sarah Jane Scouten

Debuting in 2011 with her album Magpie Waltz, she hit the country music sense hard. Still, it wasn’t until 2014 that her hard work began to pay off with her album The Cape, earning her two nominations for Traditional Album of the Year and Traditional Singer of the Year. Continuing to be recognized in the Country Music scene, Scouten continued to release three albums over three years: “Light Organ Presents The Railtown Sessions Volume One,” “When the Bloom Falls From the Rose,” and “Confessions.” All three were nominated for Album of the Year at release.

  • The Slocan Ramblers
