Bombers drop second straight at Centennial Cup

OAKVILLE, Ont. -- The Sioux Lookout Bombers are two games into their trip to the Centennial Cup and still looking for their first win of the tournament.

Kenneth Belanger and Matthew Indovina scored 91 seconds apart in the third period on Saturday night to break open a 3-2 contest, and the host Oakville Blades went on to down the Bombers 5-2.

The loss dropped Sioux Lookout to 0-2 at the national junior A hockey championship.

Sean Clarke, whop opened the scoring on the power play at 7:54 of the second, Maxwell Donohoe and Jacob Crisp staked the Blades to a 3-0 lead, beating Jack Osmond over a 5:48 span of the middle stanza.

Cobe Delaney finally solved Oakville goaltender Mikkel Christensen with 2:32 to go in the second an Trever Sanderson cut the Blades lead to 3-2 at 1:22 of the third.

But the Bombers would score no more.

Oakville outshot Sioux Lookouot 46-34 on the night, the Blades evening their record at 1-1 following Friday night's 7-4 toss to the Miramichi Timberwolves.

Next up for the Bombers is a Sunday evening date with the Timberwolves, champions of the Maritime Junior Hockey League.
