Beaver Brae Secondary School host transition day for future students

Graduating from grade 8 and moving on to high school can often be both an exciting, yet stressful time for many students. Beaver Brae High School students helped their future Broncos learn about transitioning to grade 9 by helping with their Grade 9 Transition Programming day.

KENORA—Beaver Brae Secondary School (BBSS) took time to help with their Grade 9 Transition Programming day.

On April 19, 2022, students from the school visited David Kejick School in Iskatewizaagegan No. 39 Independent First Nation.

The day focused on giving future Broncos, an overview of programming, and extra-curricular activities that BBSS has to offer. The event was organized into several components including a “Get to Know You” segment, and a “Question and Answer” period.

Along with the various activities included that day,  an awesome wrestling demonstration with BBSS very own coach, Gary Lynch was featured. The day ended with BBSS and ISWO exchanging swag prizes that served also to highlight the terrific opportunity this event gave future students to build relationships.

BBSS Grade 9 Transition Programming day, will help students make the transition from elementary school to high school a little less stressful.
