ATIKOKAN – According to the Rainy River OPP, on Oct. 25, 2023, the OPP received information that a 41-year-old man was exchanging sexually explicit material with minors.
After a four-month investigation, officers were able to place the man under arrest and charge him with luring a person under 16 and 18 years old using telecommunication and making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age.
The accused has been held in custody and was scheduled to appear before the court in Thunder Bay on March 3 for a bail hearing.
Police are requesting anyone who may have additional information or believes that they were a victim of a similar circumstance to contact the Rainy River District OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
