Assault in Sioux Lookout leads to arrest

Sioux Lookout OPP arrested and charged one individual with assault after being advised of a disturbance.

SIOUX LOOKOUT – After being flagged down and advised of a disturbance on the evening of Jan. 12, officers with the OPP investigated a claim that a 25-year-old from Kasabonika Lake First Nation had assaulted another individual.

According to the OPP, they found the accused, but during the arrest, the accused attempted to resist and assaulted an officer.

As a result, the suspect has been charged with assault with intent to resist arrest, assault, and five counts of failure to comply with release orders.

The accused was held for bail and remanded to the Kenora District Jail.
