A homeless man was arrested for robbery of a convenience store

A homeless man in Fort France was arrested in the Nov. 1 robbery of The Place grocery store in Fort Frances.

FORT FRANCES – The Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police arrested a 36-year-old homeless man in connection to a Nov. 1 robbery of The Place Fine Foods in the Town of Fort Frances.

As a result of the investigation, officers revealed that the individual entered the property at approximately 5 a.m.; however, it is unknown the number of items the man had taken.

The individual was is charged with:

  • Break and enter a place to commit an indictable crime.
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime.
  • Fail to Comply with the release order.

He was remanded into custody and is to appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court on Tuesday, Nov. 8 to answer to the charges.
