32-year-old arrested for human trafficking

One man is facing charges following an investigation into human trafficking.

KENORA - A 32-year-old Grassy Narrows First Nation resident is facing human trafficking charges.

According to a release, Treaty Three Police and OPP investigators within the Provincial Anti-Human Trafficking Intelligence-led Joint Force Strategy arrested a 32-year-old male resident of Grassy Narrows First Nation Territory on Saturday, April 9.

The accused has been charged with trafficking in persons, procuring, administer noxious thing and one material benefit from sexual services.
The name of the accused is withheld to protect the victim’s identity.

Police are asking that community members with additional information regarding human trafficking to contact the OPP non-emergency number at 1-888-310-1122. If you or someone you know maybe a victim, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
