2022 Municipal and School Board Elections and the voters list

Residents of the Township of Kenora were provided with a helpful reminder and information regarding the Fall 2022 Municipal and School Board election.

KENORA—Although it may seem as if there is still a lot of time to prepare for the 2022 Municipal and School Board election, the Township of Kenora wants to provide an update for its community, and remind residents of a few important facts.

The Municipal and School Board election day is Oct. 24, 2022, and for those wishing to register nominations for candidates, the Municipality is providing a list of the number of candidates that will be elected for each position running in the Fall election. The list is as follows:

Candidate Nominations: Nominations will be accepted for the offices of:

  • City of Kenora Mayor (one to be elected); 
  • City of Kenora Council (six to be elected); 
  • Keewatin Patricia District School Board Trustee (three to be elected); 
  • Kenora Catholic District School Board Trustee (five to be elected);
  • French Language Separate Trustee - Conseil Scolaire de Catholique des Aurores Boreales (one to be elected); 
  • French Language Public Trustee - Conseil Scolaire de District du Grand Nord de L'Ontario (one to be elected).

If you are interested in running for a seat in this election, you may file nominations with the Returning Officer until August 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

The Municipality also offered updated information about the voters list, reminding residents to make sure that they are on the voters list. To make sure that your information is accurate, they encourage you to visit voterlookup.ca, where you can confirm that information that is on file is correct.

In order to be eligible to vote in the fall municipal and school board election, you must be registered.
