KINGFISHER LAKE — Police in Kingfisher Lake First Nation have laid an impaired driving charge against a 19-year-old after allegedly finding him asleep at the wheel and his vehicle stuck in a snowbank.
According to a media release from Nishnawbe Aski police, officers were called just before 11 p.m. on April 9 about a pickup truck that had left the road near the community’s school.
Police said they found a truck in a snowbank with a man unconscious in the driver’s seat.
Further investigation led to the man, who police did not name, being taken in custody. He was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
He was released with conditions, police said, and a future court date.
