Rainfall warning in effect

NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for parts of the region.

The government weather agency says heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected for the region on Thursday.

Local rainfall amounts near 50 millimetres is expected into Thursday evening.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

  • Dryden - Vermilion Bay
  • Ignace - English River
  • Fort Frances - Emo - Rainy River
  • Sioux Narrows - Nestor Falls - Morson
